Brookline Pretty in Pink Kitchen
Home to a fashion business owner, this Brookline kitchen renovation quickly became one of our spring favorites—we centered this design/build project around our client's love for warmth, light, and soft, feminine details.
From the start, our client was drawn to sage green and pink, so we kicked off the design by drafting a layout around those colors. For paint we used Farrow & Ball’s most delicate pink: “Tailor Tack." We designed cabinetry with brass accents throughout, adding a touch of elegance and glow to the space. Every detail was thoughtfully crafted by our carpenter and a team of subcontractors we’ve collaborated with for more thana decade—true pros and longtime friends. The plumbing, electrical work, and painting were all handled by our trusted crew—people we’ve known for years and rely on to help bring each client’s vision to life, down to the smallest detail.
To reimagine the layout, we closed off an existing doorway to create room for banquette seating. We partnered with a talented local upholsterer to bring it to life using Ottoline Tiny Tulip fabric in burgundy. The built-in seating created a cozy nook that feels both functional and chic. For the windows, we installed soft pink-and-red shades that reflect our client’s love of color, using Ottoline fabric in Chintamani Fabric - Pomegranate. Along with the shades, the shutters allow light to filter in while offering privacy.
Our client found the dining table on Etsy and we customized the base color —a perfect accent of red. We paired it with beautiful vintage chairs we sourced from Facebook Marketplace.
For the countertops, we had a great time exploring the stone yard together and ultimately chose Dolce Vita Marble which ties in beautifully with the rest of the materials.
To complete the look, we leaned into our client’s vintage-inspired style. We installed a scalloped pendant light handmade in England over the table. The rose glass and fringed pendant adds a vintage look to the room. We added matching scalloped sconces made in California. The soft curves and golden tones give the room a romantic, old-world charm.
The Zellige tile from Clé tile in a mix of gold, weathered white and beige brought just the right amount of sparkle, randomness and interest. The gold accents throughout were a total game changer—bringing personality and warmth to the entire kitchen.
One of our favorite details? The made-in-Boston hood, finished with a custom brass scalloped trim—designed just for this project. The mix of walnut and painted cabinetry, brushed brass hardware, and a shimmering backsplash made of stone and metallic tiles adds depth and visual texture.
We absolutely loved working on this project and bringing our stylish client’s vision to life. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to create a space that feels elevated, feminine, and joyfully lived in. We can't wait to show you more kitchen renovations in Brookline, Boston, Newton, Cambridge, Wellesley and beyond!
